Use the A-B-C-D-E method 🧩

Categorise tasks from A (most important) to E (least important). Start with A and don’t move to B unless you finish A .. and so on and so forth.

This simple method forces you to prioritise and focus on what truly matters and keeps you on track!

Apply the law of three📝

Law of three is very interesting, it states at any given time you shouldn’t have more than 3 tasks to do!

If you have 2 tasks it’s not too much and you’ll think (oh that’s not too much) you’ll get relaxed because you can do it in no time. On the other hand, if you have 4 tasks it’s quite a lot (you’ll stress out) and surprisingly on both the occasions it’ll lead to procrastination. 3 is like sweet spot! You will have the right amount of time to finish the tasks at any given time.

So, Identify the three things you do in your work that account for 90% of your contribution.

Consider the Consequences 🤔

You must think Long-Term. Long-term thinking improves short-term decision making. Always ask yourself, which tasks will have the most significant impact on your future?

Let’s say you are Thinking about Financial independence, that means you have to start tracking your expenses, Live below your means, save as much as possible, build an Emergency Fund, and then regularly invest. So, these are the short-term decisions that you make day-in day-out for your long-term Goal. You won’t achieve Financial Independence overnight it’s going to take years of these short-term decisions and measures that will ultimately give you that End goal of Financial Independence.

But if you procrastinate on those short-term decisions, it will have negative consequences on your long-term goal of financial independence.

Prepare thoroughly before you begin 💯

Prepare everything you need before you begin working on a task to ensure smooth execution. It’s a combination of all the things like have a list, writing it down, prioritise your work, Focusing on the key areas.

If you are not well organised there will be too much noise and clutter that’ll derail you from achieving your goals.

Upgrade your key skills 🔑

A lot of time we feel we don’t have the skills or the capability to do the task. So, when you upgrade your skills the more competent you become, and that enables you to achieve more.

Improving your skills is a never-ending process.

So, keep learning, keep improving. It’s the only way forward.
